Audience Artist – Game # 2

So how many of your paintings can be found in art galleries? Oh sure, we all have one or two out there, but…

Hang on, you don’t have a painting in an art gallery? Not even one? They didn’t even consider putting it there?

Well, we all started small. I can tell you what you were doing wrong: You don’t listen to your audience. You ignore their wishes. You draw what nobody wants.

Madness in the form of a game awaits you inside.

The debate on games being a piece of art will likely continue for a while, but we deal with a different, less controversal aspect of art: Paintings.

What was the highest amount of money people payed for your paintings? If your answer has less than five zeros, then clearly you must be doing something wrong. Fear not, this game will show you how it’s done! It all comes down to one thing…
1) Listen to the Audience!

In this game, you are an artist – an artist in front of an audience. You draw what people want (don’t worry, they’ll tell you) and the better you add their wishes, the more money you’ll get! Even better, more people will come, so you can make even more money and buy your own island!

However, if you don’t listen to the audience, ignore their wishes and/or simply fail to incorporate them in your paintings, people will be disappointed, paying less, moaning and maybe even leaving the theatre.

Hey!Look!WatchOut!Example: People might yell “SPIRALS!” – well, then draw a spiral (or two. Or three.). They might yell “CONNECT” and points appear. Well, connect them. They might also yell “NO SPIRALS!” (shown by a red “X”) – then you have to AVOID drawing spirals, of course. The game tells you which wishes you granted and which you didn’t and then what price people payed for that picture. Grant more wishes and the values of your drawings increase!
(To draw – simply move the mouse! It’s that simple)

2) Ressources are limited!

What do you need for a great piece of art? Time. Paint. An idea.

This game gives you all that and more! The first few paintings don’t have a timelimit on them, but later on, you’ll find that there is indeed one, shown by the circle at the bottom left. If time is over, you have to stop drawing. We don’t want to wait ages for you to finish! What? Some great artist took years to finish?!

Paint is also limited, shown by the bar at the bottom. The more you draw, the less paint is left, so keep an eye on your ressources, will ya? If you don’t have anymore paint left, it’s Game Over – so be extra careful! You get new paint after you made a few people happy.

WhereToFindWhatAnd thats it! No more rules other than those to follow! Note though that its possible that certain… unforseen events take place, so be ready for everything!

And now play that game!
